Triumph has introduced the refreshed version of the Speed 400 motorcycle in India. With this update, the bike gets new color options and several enhancements over the previous model. The latest version is priced at Rs 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom), which is an increase of over Rs 5,000 compared to the outgoing model.

New Look, Same Style The new Speed 400 boasts fresh color schemes while maintaining the design of its predecessor. It retains the same body panels as before but is now available in four shades: Racing Yellow, Pearl Metallic White, Racing Red, and Phantom Black. Additionally, it features a redesigned seat that is 10 mm thicker than the previous version. The bike still offers switchable traction control and ride-by-wire technology, and now comes with five-step adjustable clutch and brake levers.

In terms of hardware, the Speed 400 continues with 43 mm big-piston USD front forks offering 140 mm of travel, along with a mono-shock at the rear, and lightweight 17-inch wheels. The braking system remains unchanged, with four-piston radial front brakes paired with a 300 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc. The bike is also equipped with dual-channel ABS. However, it now runs on tyres with a higher profile—110/80 at the front and 150/70 at the rear.

Under the hood, the Speed 400 continues to be powered by the same 398 cc TR-Series engine, delivering 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, which includes a torque-assist clutch.

Conclusion

In summary, the updated Triumph Speed 400 brings subtle but notable enhancements, including new color schemes, a thicker seat, and adjustable clutch and brake levers, while maintaining its iconic design and performance features. Priced at Rs 2.40 lakh, this refreshed version offers improved comfort and handling with upgraded tyres and continues to deliver the same powerful 398 cc engine. With a slight price increase over its predecessor, the Speed 400 remains a compelling choice for riders seeking a blend of style, technology, and performance in the Indian market.
