Future Facelift

A facelift for the Volkswagen Virtus is anticipated by 2026.

Product Line and Market Share

The Virtus is constructed on the modular MQB A0 IN platform, tailored for India. It is part of the India 2.0 lineup, which also includes the Slavia sedan and the Kushaq and Taigun SUVs. Together, these models have contributed to about 18.5% of domestic sales in just over three years since their launch, as reported by Volkswagen India. The Virtus offers a choice between 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines, paired with either a manual or an automatic transmission.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Volkswagen Virtus has proven to be a strong contender in the Indian sedan market, achieving significant milestones with 50,000 units sold since its launch just 28 months ago. With over 17,000 units sold this year alone, the Virtus showcases the brand’s commitment to delivering quality vehicles tailored to Indian consumers. Built on the MQB A0 IN platform, it stands alongside the popular Slavia, Kushaq, and Taigun in the India 2.0 lineup, contributing to approximately 18.5% of domestic sales. As it competes with established rivals like the Honda City and Hyundai Verna, the anticipation of a facelift by 2026 adds to the excitement surrounding this model, ensuring that the Volkswagen Virtus will continue to captivate drivers and solidify its place in the market.
