All about Toyota Camry 2024

Price and Positioning of the New Toyota Camry

Priced at Rs 48 lakh, the new Toyota Camry comes with a Rs 1.83 lakh price hike over its predecessor, which was priced at Rs 46.17 lakh. Despite the increase, the new Camry still offers excellent value when compared to its rivals like the Skoda Superb, priced at Rs 54 lakh, and the luxury sedans from Audi, BMW, and Mercedes. The Camry can also compete with cars like the Audi A4, Mercedes C-Class, and BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine, all priced above Rs 46 lakh, offering a great alternative to buyers looking for a hybrid option.

Exterior Design and Platform: Bold, Stylish, and Sophisticated

The new Camry is built on the TNGA-K platform, ensuring a smoother ride and better handling. The exterior design features Toyota’s bold “hammerhead” styling, which includes sharp nose lines, slim LED headlamps, and daytime running lights. A narrow grille nearly connects the headlights, and the ‘T’ logo has been repositioned, making it more prominent. The redesigned 18-inch alloys, along with new C-shaped LED tail-lamps, round out the stunning exterior features, making the Camry stand out on the road.

Toyota offers a wide range of exterior colours, including Precious Metal, Dark Blue, Cement Grey, Emotional Red, Attitude Black, and Platinum White Pearl, allowing buyers to choose the finish that best suits their preferences.

Interior Features of 2024 Toyota Camry: Premium Comfort and Advanced Technology

Inside, the new Camry is a blend of luxury and cutting-edge technology. The cabin features a revamped dashboard with two 12.3-inch screens – one digital instrument cluster and one touchscreen for infotainment. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring seamless connectivity for all passengers. The nine-speaker JBL sound system delivers premium audio, while the 10-inch head-up display ensures that crucial information is always in view.

For added comfort, the Camry features ventilated 10-way powered front seats, three-zone automatic climate control, and a sunroof with a retractable sunshade. The rear seats come with a reclining function and are equipped with controls in a rear centre console for added comfort on long journeys.

Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0: Top-Notch Safety Features

Toyota prioritizes safety with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS 3.0), which includes advanced ADAS (autonomous driving assistance system). The TSS 3.0 system includes:

  • Pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection
  • Radar-based cruise control
  • Lane-tracing assist
  • Road-sign assist
  • Automatic high beam for improved night-time visibility

The Camry also comes with nine airbags, parking sensors at both the front and back, and a 360-degree camera for easy maneuvering in tight spots.

Powertrain and Performance of 2024 Toyota Camry: Efficient and Powerful Hybrid Engine

Under the hood, the new Toyota Camry is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine paired with Toyota’s fifth-generation Hybrid System (THS 5). This updated engine delivers an impressive 230hp, making the Camry not only a fuel-efficient sedan but also a powerful one. Compared to the outgoing model, this powertrain delivers a 12hp increase, providing a more responsive driving experience.

With a fuel efficiency rating of 25.49 km/l (as per ARAI), the new Camry sets a high standard for hybrid sedans in India. The car uses an eCVT gearbox for smooth and efficient power delivery.

Warranty and Assembly: Confidence in Durability

Toyota offers a comprehensive 8-year/1.6 lakh km warranty on the Camry’s battery pack, giving buyers peace of mind regarding the longevity and reliability of the hybrid powertrain. The Camry continues to be assembled at Toyota’s Bidadi plant in Karnataka, maintaining the brand’s commitment to producing high-quality vehicles in India.

Conclusion: A Strong Contender in the Luxury Sedan Segment

The new Toyota Camry 2024 offers a blend of luxury, performance, and efficiency at an attractive price point. With its updated hybrid engine, high-end features, and top-notch safety systems, the Camry stands out as a leading option for anyone looking for a premium sedan. Whether you’re considering a switch to a hybrid or simply seeking a reliable, luxurious sedan, the Toyota Camry is a worthy contender.
