Honda has officially pulled the wraps off its smallest and most compact electric vehicle to date – the Honda N-One e:. Launched in Japan, this boxy yet modern city commuter combines minimal size with maximum innovation. With an impressive 270 km range, the N-One e: also boasts Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capabilities, letting it double up as a portable energy source!

All about N-One e

Compact Dimensions, Clever Design

True to Japan’s kei car philosophy, the Honda N-One e: is less than 3.4 metres long, making it incredibly manoeuvrable for tight urban spaces. Its tall, upright silhouette is complemented by retro-modern round headlamps, rectangular LED taillights, and flat body panels that enhance both form and function. Interestingly, Honda has added dual charging ports at the front, flanking the iconic ‘H’ badge.

Interior: Practicality Meets Personality

Inside, Honda has kept things refreshingly straightforward. The dashboard features a recessed shelf for additional storage, while the gear selector is smartly mounted on the sloping centre console. Physical buttons dominate the layout, offering a tactile experience rarely seen in modern EVs.

Key interior highlights:

  • Electric parking brake
  • Free-standing touchscreen infotainment (on higher trims)
  • USB charging ports
  • Ventilated front seats
  • 50:50 split-folding rear seats
  • Cruise control and lane-keep assist

The biggest talking point? V2L and V2H capability. The Honda N-One e: can power electronic devices and even supply energy to homes – a feature usually found in premium EVs. This makes it an ideal urban EV not just for commuting, but also for emergencies or outdoor lifestyles.

Performance & Features

While Honda hasn’t yet disclosed the full powertrain specs, the claimed range of 270 km per full charge positions the N-One e: as a practical daily driver. Additional visible tech includes:

  • Multiple drive modes
  • Hill-hold assist
  • Lane-keep assist
  • Cruise control

It’s clear Honda has gone beyond ‘basic’ despite the car’s small footprint.

Launch Timeline & Booking Details N-One e

Honda has confirmed that the N-One e: will launch in Japan this September, with bookings opening on August 1, 2025. While it remains unclear if the car will be exported to global markets, it certainly reflects Honda’s growing focus on compact, tech-laden EVs designed for next-gen urban lifestyles.

Final Thoughts: Small in Size, Giant in Innovation

The Honda N-One e: may be tiny, but it packs a futuristic punch with features like V2L, V2H, a 270 km range, and clever space utilization. Perfect for city dwellers, tech enthusiasts, and eco-conscious drivers, this EV shows how size doesn’t limit capability. With urban congestion rising and charging infrastructure expanding, compact EVs like the N-One e: are undoubtedly the future.
