Indian car lovers are thrilled at the launch of Mecedes-Benz E-Class. In an official announcement, the company confirmed New Mercedes E-Class LWB’s launch date as October 9, 2024. Mecedes-Benz has also opened the pre-bookings of this iconic car. To the delight of all those who have made the bookings, it has been confirmed that their Mecedes-Benz E-Class cars will reach them within weeks of the launch date.

An Overview of Next-gen Mercedes E-Class LWB

Prestige and elegance have always been associated with the Mercedes-Benz cars. It’s the same with the Next-gen Mercedes E-Class LWB (Long Wheel Base). The car stays true to its name and provides its owners with a “next-gen” experience, as we will see across the striking features and specifications later in this article. 

The car’s design is highly inspired by the S-class cars. It additionally includes a large cabin space and comfortable rear seats, which are highly valued by the Indian audience. Luxury car lovers can choose from two variants of the car, including the E 200, which uses petrol, and the E 220d, which runs on diesel. With these striking features, enhanced engine performance, and technological advancements, the Next-gen Mercedes E-Class LWB  promises to make a strong impact in the luxury sedan segment.

What’s New In Next-gen Mercedes E-Class LWB

Though the design of Next-gen Mercedes E-Class LWB is inspired by the flagship Mercedes-Benz S-Class, it has an extended wheelbase of about 15 mm. The longer wheelbase provides you with a much larger cabin space and adds to a sense of luxury and style. Along with the wheelbase, the dimensions of the New Mercedes E-Class LWB have been increased as well. It is 14 mm longer and 13 mm taller than its predecessor. The front fascia has a sleeker profile and LED lights. 

Additionally, Mercedes E-Class LWB features an S-Class-inspired grille, flush-fitting door handles, 3D LED taillights, and dual-tone alloy wheels. All these updates in the New Mercedes E-Class LWB make for a refreshing yet sophisticated evolution.

Mercedes E-Class LWB features cater to all that a modern-day driver can wish for. The “Superscreen” is not only larger than other segments, but it also features several controls enabling you to create a perfect driving environment suited to you. You can also connect the infotainment system to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

The system allows you to seamlessly enjoy wireless charging, USB-C port connectivity, and an advanced sound system. There is a separate screen for the rear passengers that further adds convenience. They can adjust the entertainment options without disturbing the driver.

It features adjustable headlamps, front fog lights, an integrated antenna, LED DRLs, and LED taillights. The Next-gen Mercedes E-Class LWB has dual-tone alloy wheels, sporty side skirts, and AMG bumpers that further enhance its visual presence on the road.

2. Interior Features

The leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and silver pore ash wood trim take the interiors of the Next-gen Mercedes E-Class LWB to a whole new level. The cabin has a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the center. A 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster complements it and provides necessary information at a glance. 

The luxury is no less for rear-seat passengers, who get to enjoy power-reclining seats with an ottoman function. The New Mercedes E-Class LWB also includes air suspensions that ensure a smooth ride regardless of the road conditions.

3. Safety Features

Mercedes-Benz has always been regarded for its strong emphasis on safety features across all its car models. The next-gen E-Class LWB is no exception and is equipped with multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. 

Additionally, the advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) provides warnings and interventions to avoid collisions. The car also has a 360-degree camera system that enables easier parking and driving.

The diesel variant, E 220d, houses a 2.0-liter engine producing 197 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

One of the standout features of this next-gen model is the 48-volt mild hybrid system. This system adds the eco-friendly option to the Mercedes E-Class LWB specifications. This hybrid system provides additional power during acceleration and helps reduce fuel consumption.

The Mercedes E-Class LWB is set to compete directly with the newly launched BMW 5 Series LWB in the Indian market. Both cars are designed and priced accordingly to appease the buyers with their luxury, space, and performance.
