Electric vehicle giant Tesla is charging forward with its India plans, announcing the opening of its second experience centre in the country. Set to open doors on August 11, the new Tesla showroom will be located at Worldmark, Aerocity — a strategic location near the New Delhi International Airport.
Tesla: Delhi Showroom Follows Mumbai Launch
This move comes less than a month after Tesla made its much-awaited India debut with the launch of its Mumbai experience centre on July 15. Both showrooms are part of Tesla’s strategy to establish a premium customer experience across key metropolitan hubs.
Model Y: The First Tesla on Indian Roads
Leading Tesla’s entry into the Indian market is the Model Y SUV, available in two variants:
- Standard Range (up to 500 km)
- Long Range (up to 622 km, WLTP cycle)
The ex-showroom price starts at ₹59.99 lakh, positioning it as a premium EV choice for Indian buyers looking for a mix of performance and sustainability.
Charging Infrastructure Rolls Out in India
Tesla isn’t just selling cars—it’s building an ecosystem. The brand has launched its first set of Superchargers in India, beginning with a station at BKC, Mumbai, which features:
- 4 DC fast chargers
- 4 AC chargers
Further stations are planned in Navi Mumbai, Lower Parel, and Thane, with additional infrastructure coming soon to Delhi, Gurugram, and Pune.
Priority Cities for Tesla in India
Tesla has identified Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram as its initial priority cities. Buyers in these locations can expect faster deliveries and early access to the brand’s growing infrastructure.
