KTM has officially launched the 390 Enduro R in India, pricing it at Rs 3.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This places it between the KTM 390 Adventure X and the standard 390 Adventure, while undercutting the latter by approximately Rs 31,000.

Platform & Powertrain

The 390 Enduro R shares its chassis and powertrain with the KTM 390 Adventure and 390 Duke. It’s equipped with the familiar 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled LC4c engine, delivering 46hp and 39Nm of torque — the same figures as its siblings in the KTM 390 family.

Suspension & Off-Road Geometry (India-Spec)

Unlike its global counterpart, the Indian version of the 390 Enduro R features reduced suspension travel — 200mm at the front and 205mm at the rear, compared to the 230mm front and rear setup offered abroad.
This change also results in a lower seat height of 860mm (down from 890mm) and a ground clearance of 253mm, as opposed to 272mm internationally.

Weight & Design

The bike tips the scales at 177kg, making it 5-6kg lighter than the 390 Adventure. Its minimalist bodywork, slim design, and compact 9-litre fuel tank merging into a single-piece seat give it a leaner and more agile profile — ideal for dual-sport enthusiasts.

Brakes & Chassis

The main frame and swingarm are shared with the 390 Adventure. For braking, it uses a slightly smaller 285mm front disc, while the 240mm rear disc remains unchanged from the 390 Adventure.

Market Position & Rivals

The KTM 390 Enduro R is positioned as a dual-sport machine focused on off-road capability. It competes with the Kawasaki KLX230, which is lighter but less powerful. KTM has also announced that the international-spec version (with longer suspension travel) will be introduced in India in the coming months.

Conclusion

The KTM 390 Enduro R strikes a compelling balance between off-road capability and everyday usability, offering the proven performance of the 390 platform with a more accessible setup tailored for Indian riders. With reduced suspension travel, lower seat height, and a competitive price tag of Rs 3.37 lakh, it caters to both adventure enthusiasts and dual-sport beginners. Positioned smartly between the 390 Adventure X and the 390 Adventure, and weighing less than both, the 390 Enduro R brings KTM’s rugged DNA to a wider audience—while hinting at even more hardcore international-spec options on the horizon.
