Maruti Suzuki Fronx Achieves 5 Lakh Units Production Milestone in Just 28 Months

Maruti Suzuki India has achieved a remarkable milestone with its popular crossover SUV, the Fronx. The company rolled out the 5,00,000th unit of the Fronx in July 2025, just 28 months after commencing production in March 2023.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx: A Rapid Growth Journey Since Launch

The Fronx, based on the Baleno hatchback, made its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo as one of Maruti Suzuki’s biggest highlights. While sales started modestly, the crossover quickly became a volume seller, consistently contributing 12,000–15,000 units per month.

  • 1 lakh units milestone: December 2023 (9 months)
  • 2 lakh units milestone: June 2024 (6 months later)
  • 3 lakh units milestone: November 2024
  • 4 lakh units milestone: February 2025
  • 5 lakh units milestone: July 2025

Maruti Suzuki Fronx: India’s Most Exported Passenger Vehicle

The Fronx has not only captured Indian roads but also international markets. In FY 2024-25, it became the highest exported passenger vehicle from India. Maruti Suzuki confirmed that one in every five Fronx units manufactured in India is exported.

Additionally, the company produces the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, a re-badged version of the Fronx, further strengthening its presence in global markets.

Engine Options and Variants

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is retailed through the Nexa network and comes with multiple powertrain choices:

  • 1.2-litre petrol (with 5-speed MT & AMT, also offered with CNG)
  • 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (with 5-speed MT & 6-speed AT)

Customers can choose from five variants – Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha – with prices ranging between ₹7.59 lakh and ₹13.07 lakh (ex-showroom).

Advanced Features and Safety

With its bold styling, premium design, and best-in-class fuel efficiency, the Fronx quickly appealed to urban buyers. Maruti recently made six airbags standard across all variants, enhancing its safety credentials. The Fronx has also been tested in global crash ratings, further cementing its reputation as a reliable compact SUV.
