MG Motor India has unveiled the Windsor EV Pro, the all-new flagship variant of the Windsor electric car lineup. Priced at an introductory Rs 17.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 8,000 customers, the Pro variant packs several upgrades over the standard Windsor, most notably a larger battery and advanced safety features.

MG Windsor EV Pro

Larger Battery with Extended Range

The biggest upgrade in the Windsor EV Pro is the new 52.9 kWh battery, replacing the 38 kWh unit found in the standard model. This enhancement boosts the range from 331 km to an impressive 449 km on a single charge.

MG also offers a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan, allowing buyers to own the EV at a reduced upfront cost of Rs 12.50 lakh, and pay Rs 4.50 per km driven. New finance partners like IDFC First Bank and Kotak Mahindra Prime have been onboarded to support this offering.

New Features: V2L, V2V, and Lifetime Battery Warranty

The Windsor EV Pro introduces Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities, turning the EV into a mobile power hub. Additionally, MG is offering a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner, enhancing peace of mind for early adopters.

Sleek Exterior and Premium Interior Updates

Visually, the Pro retains much of the original Windsor’s styling, but now comes with 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, similar to the MG Hector. It’s also offered in three new colours:

  • Celadon Blue
  • Glaze Red
  • Aurora Silver

Inside, the Pro features a more luxurious ivory-and-black dual-tone interior, along with a powered tailgate for added convenience.

Ivory upholstery differentiates the Windsor Pro’s interior.

Level 2 ADAS Takes Safety Up a Notch

Another significant upgrade is the inclusion of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Key safety features include:

  • Traffic Jam Assist
  • Lane Departure Prevention
  • Autonomous Emergency Braking
  • Adaptive Cruise Control

These additions bring the Windsor EV Pro in line with modern safety expectations and make it a strong contender in its segment.

Vehicle-to-load functionality will add to Windsor EV’s versatility.

Unchanged Power Output

While the battery and tech have received major upgrades, the Pro continues with the same 134 bhp motor producing 200 Nm of torque. Performance-wise, it’s expected to deliver the same smooth and peppy electric driving experience as its predecessor.

Bookings Open from May 8

Bookings for the MG Windsor EV Pro will open on May 8, and the introductory price is applicable for the first 8,000 buyers only. With its feature-loaded package and flexible BaaS pricing, the Windsor EV Pro is set to shake up the mid-size EV segment in India.
