MV Agusta Breaks Away from KTM

In a significant turn of events, MV Agusta, the iconic Italian motorcycle manufacturer, has announced that it is severing ties with KTM. This decision marks the end of the partnership that was formed in March 2024, when KTM, through its parent company Pierer Mobility AG, acquired a 50.1% stake in MV Agusta.

Why Did MV Agusta and KTM Part Ways?

The split comes after a period of financial challenges within KTM’s parent company, Pierer Mobility AG. Despite the initial goal of strengthening MV Agusta’s operations through KTM’s resources, the financial restructuring and troubles within Pierer Mobility AG led to the decision to part ways. As a result, MV Agusta has regained full control, under Art of Mobility S.A., a company controlled by the Sardarov family.

The Future of MV Agusta: Full Ownership and Financial Growth

While the split from KTM might be seen as a setback for some, MV Agusta has reassured stakeholders that it remains financially strong and unaffected by KTM’s financial challenges. The company has experienced remarkable growth, including a 116% increase in sales in 2024, selling over 4,000 motorcycles compared to the previous year. MV Agusta now looks forward to expanding its global presence further, with plans to increase its active sales points from 219 to 270 by the end of the year.

Strengthened Operations and Vision for the Future

Timur Sardarov, CEO of Art of Mobility S.A., expressed pride in the company’s achievements and the strengthened internal processes that have contributed to its success. MV Agusta’s revitalized management team is focused on delivering excellence and ensuring that its dealer network remains strong and well-supported during this transition.

“Our vision and commitment, combined with the dedication of our team and partners, will take MV Agusta to new heights,” said Sardarov. With these structural changes and renewed focus, MV Agusta is poised to make an even greater impact in the motorcycle industry in the years to come.

MV Agusta’s Continued Commitment to Excellence

MV Agusta remains dedicated to ensuring that customers experience uninterrupted global sales and service operations. With 41 service centers currently active, the company is set to strengthen its dealer network, continuing to offer world-class motorcycles and service.

Conclusion: A Stronger, More Independent MV Agusta

The separation from KTM signals a new chapter for MV Agusta, one where the company regains its independence and aims to continue its impressive growth. With full ownership back under the Sardarov family, MV Agusta is set to push boundaries and maintain its position as a leader in the motorcycle industry. The future looks bright for this iconic brand, as it steers ahead with renewed strength and a clear vision for the years to come.
