Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer, Ather Energy, has announced a major achievement—its family scooter, Rizta, has crossed one lakh unit sales within a year of its launch in April 2024. The Rizta has rapidly become the brand’s best-selling model, contributing nearly 60% of Ather’s total sales to date.
What Makes the Rizta a Family Favourite
The success of the Rizta can be credited to its family-first design approach, practical features, and superior ride quality. Built from the ground up to suit the daily commuting needs of Indian families, the Rizta offers:
- 56-litre underseat storage—one of the largest in its class
- Wide, well-contoured seat for rider and pillion comfort
- SkidControl™ traction control for added safety
- Emergency Stop Signal
- Google Maps-based navigation and live location sharing
- OTA updates and connected features enhancing everyday convenience
Variants and Battery Options
Ather offers the Rizta in three variants with two battery options:
- 2.9 kWh battery with a range of 105 km
- 3.7 kWh battery offering up to 127 km
This flexibility in battery size ensures the Rizta appeals to both daily short-distance commuters and those needing longer range per charge.
Sales Strategy and Market Expansion
Between July 2024 and April 2025, Ather sold 99,691 units, with the final few hundred pushing it over the 1 lakh milestone in May 2025. The brand ramped up production and delivery in Q2 FY25, expanding reach across key states including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh to meet rising demand.
Company Speaks
Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, said:
“Hitting the 1 lakh milestone with the Rizta is a big moment for us. The Rizta, which was built from the ground up with a focus on addressing the needs of Indian families, has played a key role in expanding our reach and connecting with a much wider set of customers.”
Conclusion: Rizta Crosses 1 Lakh Sales Milestone
With its perfect blend of practicality, safety, and design, the Ather Rizta has struck a strong chord with Indian families. As EV adoption grows across the country, the Rizta’s impressive sales performance positions it as not just Ather’s flagship product, but also a symbol of how user-centric innovation can drive mainstream EV acceptance in India.
