Honda Celebrates 50 Years of GoldWing with Special Edition Launch in India

3 Min Read

Honda has unveiled the 50th Anniversary Edition of its iconic GoldWing touring motorcycle in India. This special edition comes at a price of ₹39.90 lakh (ex-showroom), making it ₹70,000 more expensive than the standard Gold Wing Tour. However, it justifies the premium with exclusive cosmetic and digital upgrades.

What’s New in the Honda 50th Anniversary GoldWing?

To mark five decades of the GoldWing legacy, Honda has introduced a new metallic Cherry Red colour, which comes with celebratory graphics and details. Notably, a ‘Since 1975’ animation appears on the 7.0-inch TFT screen on startup, and the key-fob features matching anniversary branding. While the international model also gets a Soft Gold shade, it won’t be available in the Indian market.

Powertrain and Performance

Mechanically, the GoldWing Anniversary Edition remains unchanged from the Tour version. It continues to be powered by a 1,883cc, flat-six, liquid-cooled engine that produces 126.4hp and 170Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox and a reverse gear. The flat-six engine configuration and smooth DCT make the GoldWing a benchmark in comfort touring.

Feature-Rich Touring Machine

The GoldWing has always been known for its long-distance touring capabilities and tech-loaded package. The 50th Anniversary Edition includes:

  • 7.0-inch TFT display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Traction control
  • Ride-by-wire with four riding modes: Tour, Sport, Econ, and Rain
  • Integrated airbag for added safety

These features ensure that the GoldWing continues to offer top-tier safety, connectivity, and comfort for highway cruising.

Pricing and Availability

To create a distinct price gap, Honda has reduced the price of the standard Gold Wing Tour from ₹39.70 lakh to ₹39.20 lakh. The Anniversary Edition, meanwhile, is priced at ₹39.90 lakh.

Bookings are now open exclusively through BigWing Topline dealerships, and deliveries are set to begin from June 2025.

Final Thoughts

With the launch of the 50th Anniversary Edition, Honda not only celebrates the legacy of the GoldWing but also reiterates its commitment to premium touring motorcycles in India. This edition is a must-have for GoldWing enthusiasts looking for something special that marks a milestone in motorcycle history.
